Texas DPS says a Texas driver record may be ordered online or by mail. For an online own-record order, Texas DPS requires the most recently issued Texas license/ID number, audit number, date of birth and last four digits of the Social Security number.

Match the purpose to the DPS-listed record type and fee:

  • Type 1 — $4. Status, birth date, address and original Texas application date.
  • Type 2 — $6. Three-year moving violations and crashes for which a ticket was received, plus Type 1.
  • Type 2A — $10. Certified Type 2; not valid for a defensive driving course (DDC).
  • Type 3 — $7. All recorded crashes and moving/nonmoving violations, plus Type 1; own record only, not DDC.
  • Type 3A — $10. Certified Type 3; own record only and the only type accepted for DDC.
  • Type AR — $20. Certified complete driver abstract, including Type 3 information and all suspensions.
